Frequently asked questions about the ladder

Go to the Ladder page and search for a ladder by name (enter at least 3 characters). Then, click Join to request participation from the ladder administrator.

We use your rating to determine your initial position in the ladder. We match you with a player whose rating is closest to yours and place you accordingly.

You can view your opponent in the planner menu of the ladder. This is only possible when you have an active match. Next to their name, you will see icons for different contact methods. Click on an icon to send a message (via Signal, WhatsApp, or email) or use the phone icon to call (if you’re on a mobile device).

Matches are scheduled based on your availability. If you want matches to be scheduled quickly, set a low number of days in the second availability field. If you want to quickly get a new match just once, enter today’s date in the first field. After that, we’ll start looking for a new opponent as soon as possible.

This can have several causes:

• It’s possible that your availability isn’t set correctly, or the date we’ll schedule a new match might be in the future. Want to play a match sooner? Then adjust these settings.
• It may also happen that we can’t find a suitable opponent for you — for example, because other players still have an ongoing match. In that case, you’ll need to be patient. We’ll do our best to create a good match as soon as possible.

Yes, you can view the matches and statistics of other players in your ladder. For example, you can do this by clicking on a player in the positions tab of your ladder, or by clicking on a player in a match. You’ll then see that player’s match history and statistics.

Yes, you can cancel a match using the cancel button.

• Canceled matches cannot be undone.
• A new match against this opponent will not be scheduled for the time being.
• The canceled match does not count as played and does not affect your position in the ladder.

💡 Tip: Always contact your opponent before canceling to avoid misunderstandings.

If you cancel frequently, it might be wise to adjust your availability. After all, it’s not pleasant for your opponent when a match is canceled.

Yes, you can. However, if a result is incomplete, we won’t process it. We only process a result once it has been fully entered (a check mark will appear next to player who won).

You can enter the score in the planner section:

1. Click the red pencil icon to edit the score. The match is complete when there is a check mark next to one of the two players.
2. After entering the score, click the save icon.

You can still edit the score until midnight. After that, it will be finalized.

If your opponent doesn’t show up or forfeits, you can enter this under special in the results menu. Here, you can mark:

• Who forfeited (retired)
• Who didn’t show up (walkover)

The other player will be awarded the win, and the match will count as played, affecting the ladder ranking.

If your opponent doesn’t respond, you won’t be able to make any arrangements. You can then cancel the match in the planner, after which we can find a new opponent for you.
